It is a matter of joy and privilege that June 21st is celebrated as “International Day of Yoga” propagating the glory of ancient Indian wisdom jointly proclaimed by leading Yoga Institutions. To commemorate the same, Rajarajeswari College of Engineering observed “International Day of Yoga” at Seminar Hall on 21.06.2017 wherein faculty, students and staff have participated.
At the outset, Prof. Preethi A Nayak, RRCE Yoga Coordinator welcome Dr.R Maruthi Ram, Prof. & HoD, MBA Department, Dayananda Sagar Academy of Technology & Management, who is also the Yoga guru @ Yogashree Yoga Centre, Bangalore, the Resource Person for the event.
Prof. Dr. K Pavan Kumar HoD, MBA department read out the profile of the guest and requested him to stress on the importance of Yoga and its demonstration.
In his address, Dr. R Maruthi Ram explained that application of Yoga is to bring health, harmony and peace which will highlight the beneficial effects of Yoga in the field of health, concentration and stress management. The students and faculties have practiced and performed various Asanas and Pranayama, demonstrated by Mr. Shiva Kumar, who assisted the Guru.
At the outset, the audience were very much delighted to know the importance of yoga in the day today life.
The faculty members have rendered positive response by providing feedback on their learning and they promised that they would take up Yoga sessions on a continuous basis and make their lives wholesome.
Prof. K Pavan Kumar thank the Yoga Guru and his team for giving demonstration and illustration on Yoga. The International Yoga Day celebration was concluded with vote of thanks by the Chair.

Welcomed the dignitaries, faculties & Students for the function by Dr. Savitha B, Department of Mathematics and it followed by the Principal talk briefed about the importance of celebration of heritage day and the Vice-Principal in his speech appreciated the effort & involvement made by the students on Heritage Exhibition. He Stressed upon that this cultural heritage not only bean did of club event but if should continuously be celebrated. He gave the difference between the old and new generations and how to follow this culture in our daily life by giving respect to our parents and elders. Then the Rector Dr. Gopalakrishna Nair briefed about the knowledge of heritage in Engineering stream and finally congratulated the heritage committee for conducting this function successfully thanked all.
Then Prof. Shwetha, Asst. Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering concluded with vote of thanks.
After this formal function, stage events conducted, in that Folk dance, folk singing, Heritage fashion show and speech on Heritage day. Students are participated very enthusiastically and outside the conference hall Mechanical I year students conducted exhibition with the theme ‘Heritage Games’ like Choukabara, chinni-dandu, lagori, Buguri, Chaduranga, Pagade etc. They display playthings with explanation in charts. Electronics I year students exhibited the culture of south states life styles, in that Karnataka, Thamil Nadu and Andra Pradesh are the major places. Along with this ‘Heritage Food Court’ also conducted in that five departments are participated viz., EEE, ISE,CSE,ECE & Civil Engg. Finally the event was very gracefully concluded.

About conference flow:
National Conference started with the inaugural function 10am on 16th May 2017, with all the dignitaries and the keynote speaker. The symposium included many of the technical events participated by good number of students.

The nontechnical events such as Treasure hunt(lost), Pen talks, Mad money, Media mazed, Hey Mr. Sherlock were challenging to students and created lot of vibrancies .
This event is organized, participated and planned by the students and they got to learn lot of organizing, fund generation, accounts, event coordination etc.
The students exhibited their talent through show models built with electronics. This is added colors to the whole event.
The most of the models were reusable having wonderful ideas of event, coordination and management.
National Science Day is celebrated in RajaRajeswari College of Engineering with great enthusiasm on 28th of February 2018 in order to commemorate the invention of the Raman Effect in India by the Indian physicist, Sir Chandrasekhara Venkata Raman on the same day in the year 1928. The theme of the year 2017 is “Science and Technology for specially abled persons”. The ultimate aim of celebrating the day is to provide awareness of Science among the engineering students. Objective of the Workshop :
Workshop is meant to teach the participants simple mathematics and recognition of currency, signature and names…etc to Group D Staffs of RRCE. This workshop is meant to make them feel good and privilege.
Outcome of the event:
Majority of the women of group D participated who had no basic education. Some of them have attended only primary school; some of them had capability of apply mathematics mentally having no knowledge of writing. There were many participants who had good interest in learning, we could shape them individually could give attention. There were about 30 volunteers for the group. Most of them could recognize the number up to 1 Lakh, could add, subtract and multiply, recognize signature, names etc. The Second intension of the program to make them feel good and get confident was successful. As the program was spread for the complete day and the hospitality such as food and snacks were provided.
Annual Cultural fest “KALA SOURABHA-2K17” was held at ACS Convention Hall, RRMCH Campus, Kambipura, on 13.04.2017 at 10:30 AM .

The fest begin with orchestra from faculties followed by Solo Singing, group singing with Instrumental, Solo Dance , group dance, Western & Classical, Dancing, Fashion Show etc. 35 events were organized for the students, from all the streams of RRCE participated in the above events and secured prizes. After prize distribution the most awaited DJ night engrossed the audience with the awe-inspiring music, the audience was just at the foot to dance themselves. The program concluded at 8:30pm in the presence of Management representatives & the College Officials.
Extensive survey camp is a part of the curriculum for the students of sixth semester .The camp was conducted for duration of 10 days at Janapadaloka, Ramanagaram District 15th January 2017 to 24th January 2017.The students camped at Government premises adjoining Janapadaloka. Separate accommodation was provided for girls and boys.
The following projects were done by the students by rotation in the following sites.
1. New Tank Project near Government Engineering College, Ramanagaram
2. Old Tank Project close to Government Engineering College, Ramanagaram.
3. Village Project /Water Supply /Sanitation Project at the village Rajiv Gandhi Pura, Ramanagaram District.
4. Highway Project from Janapada Loka to village Rajiv Gandhi Pura, Ramanagaram District.
After doing the field work the students completed the required office work and prepared corresponding drawings .On final day they prepared the project report.

About the Programme:
Sixth Alumni meet was held on 26th January 2017, headed by Dr. Balakrishna, Dean Alumni association, and Mr. Pavan Kumar K R, Dept. of EEE and member coordinators from all the departments. The function went on with great enthusiasm and spirit. The Alumni’s shared their views and gave few suggestion for the next meet.
The vice President of Alumni association announced that best project award will be given to best three final year projects for the academic year 2017-18. Later “SAMANVAYA” newsletter edition was released by our dignitaries. This news letter will tell the voice of alumni and other activities held, to be held in RRCE.
FDP objective: FDP titled “WSN and Scilab” is to impart skill necessary to start /forward the research in the field of wireless sensor networks .The objective is to make the participant free from of clutches of proprietary softwares. This program will also enable the participants to formulate the problem statement and established proof of concept using hardware.
FDP Outcomes:
As the FDP was organized in collaboration with Nihan Communications Private Limited , Bangalore .The participants could get practical exposure and the current scenario of WSN.
The participants understood the usage of modes, gateways and the cloud.
They could successfully deployed the wireless sensor network (WSN) with multi modes, gates connected to the cloud through local data bases such as Laptops.
The experience gained by the participants in their programming modes, gateways and cloud was Commendable. Many of the participants have registered for doing research in WSN.
Apart from this they also learned the network simulation, using Scilab.
The participants were also gained knowledge on Latex for documentation.

Department of information science and Engineering offers a venue to showcase technical expertise of young aspirants in the fields of science and technology which entails events, games and technical competitions structured by various departments like Aeronautical Civil, CSE, ECE, EEE, IT, ME and MCA.
