Gopalakrishnan Nair, Rector, RRGI graced throughout the function. Prof. Sincy Elezebeth Kuruvilla, Asst. Prof. Dept. of EEE (Student Branch Chair) presented the brief bio-data of the Guest Mr. M.M. Babu Narayanan and gave an overview of the topic“Wide Area Measurement Systems (WAMS)” to the gathering.
The speaker, Mr. M.M. Babu Narayanan delivered an expert talk on “Wide Area Measurement Systems (WAMS)”. He discussed about the present and emerging challenges in large power networks and the relevance of WAMS in secure operation of power systems. The discussion covered WAMS components, applications in protection and control and comparison between SCADA where the magnitude of voltage and currents at different point in the system is made available where as in WAMS, these signals with phase positions are available to take necessary corrective actions and avoids blackouts. He has discussed about ongoing Indian URTDSM project in detail also. The session was very interactive and the knowledge shared by the speaker uplifted our students to a level forward.
The expert was felicitated with mementos by IEEE PES Bangalore Chapter and Management of Rajarajeswari College of Engg., Bengaluru. The program was concluded with the Vote of Thanks by Prof. Bharathi V , Asst. Prof. Dept .of EEE (IEEE Student Member). A 5th Voluntary Blood Donation Camp was organized at the RajaRajeswari College of Engineering, through National Service Scheme Unit Headed by Mr. K S Ananda Kumar, NSS Programme Officer on 21-09-2017 wherein Lions Club of Bangalore South along with the Red Cross blood bank, RRMCH Blood Bank, Narayana Hrudayalaya Blood Bank, BGS Global Hospitals Blood Bank, Sushrutha Blood Bank, have participated. As many as 650 students and faculty have participated in 5th Voluntary Blood Donation Camp. 178 units of blood are collected in the campaign.

The program outcomes include an introduction to the concepts of connection and connection-less information transmission over a digital network and the use of real time systems and services.

It is a matter of joy and privilege that June 21st is celebrated as “International Day of Yoga” propagating the glory of ancient Indian wisdom jointly proclaimed by leading Yoga Institutions. To commemorate the same, Rajarajeswari College of Engineering observed “International Day of Yoga” at Seminar Hall on 21.06.2017 wherein faculty, students and staff have participated.
At the outset, Prof. Preethi A Nayak, RRCE Yoga Coordinator welcome Dr.R Maruthi Ram, Prof. & HoD, MBA Department, Dayananda Sagar Academy of Technology & Management, who is also the Yoga guru @ Yogashree Yoga Centre, Bangalore, the Resource Person for the event.
Prof. Dr. K Pavan Kumar HoD, MBA department read out the profile of the guest and requested him to stress on the importance of Yoga and its demonstration.
In his address, Dr. R Maruthi Ram explained that application of Yoga is to bring health, harmony and peace which will highlight the beneficial effects of Yoga in the field of health, concentration and stress management. The students and faculties have practiced and performed various Asanas and Pranayama, demonstrated by Mr. Shiva Kumar, who assisted the Guru.
At the outset, the audience were very much delighted to know the importance of yoga in the day today life.
The faculty members have rendered positive response by providing feedback on their learning and they promised that they would take up Yoga sessions on a continuous basis and make their lives wholesome.
Prof. K Pavan Kumar thank the Yoga Guru and his team for giving demonstration and illustration on Yoga. The International Yoga Day celebration was concluded with vote of thanks by the Chair.

RajaRajeswari College of Engineering organized Heritage day celebration on 06th May 2015 at APJ Abdul Kalam conference hall. This auspicious function was inaugurated with lighting the prosperous and traditional lamp by the distinct hands of the Principal Dr. Balakrishna R,Vice Principal Prof. Prabhakar, Dr. Gopalakrishna Nair, Rector and the convener of the program Dr. Savitha B
Welcomed the dignitaries, faculties & Students for the function by Dr. Savitha B, Department of Mathematics and it followed by the Principal talk briefed about the importance of celebration of heritage day and the Vice-Principal in his speech appreciated the effort & involvement made by the students on Heritage Exhibition. He Stressed upon that this cultural heritage not only bean did of club event but if should continuously be celebrated. He gave the difference between the old and new generations and how to follow this culture in our daily life by giving respect to our parents and elders. Then the Rector Dr. Gopalakrishna Nair briefed about the knowledge of heritage in Engineering stream and finally congratulated the heritage committee for conducting this function successfully thanked all.
Then Prof. Shwetha, Asst. Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering concluded with vote of thanks.
After this formal function, stage events conducted, in that Folk dance, folk singing, Heritage fashion show and speech on Heritage day. Students are participated very enthusiastically and outside the conference hall Mechanical I year students conducted exhibition with the theme ‘Heritage Games’ like Choukabara, chinni-dandu, lagori, Buguri, Chaduranga, Pagade etc. They display playthings with explanation in charts. Electronics I year students exhibited the culture of south states life styles, in that Karnataka, Thamil Nadu and Andra Pradesh are the major places. Along with this ‘Heritage Food Court’ also conducted in that five departments are participated viz., EEE, ISE,CSE,ECE & Civil Engg. Finally the event was very gracefully concluded.

Kalam seminar hall with Chief Guest Dr. K Suguna, Prof. and HOD, MBU, IISc, Bangalore.
Chief guest briefly explained the observation of Science over 300 years. Inauguration was graced by our Rector Dr. TR Gopalakrishnan Nair, Principal Dr. R Balakrishna, Vice-Principal Prof.
Prabhakar M, Faculties of RRCE along with delegates from various parts of India and our students. Vote of thanks for inauguration was given by Dr. Razia Tasneem, HOD, Chemistry.
Department of Physics conducted the National Conference at Aryabhatta Seminar hall on 17th afternoon and 18th full day. More delegates were attended. 17th afternoon was graced by Dr. M
Baskar about molecular dynamics and Dr. Sujith KV about E-waste. 18th guest speakers were Dr.John Kiran about Raman Spectroscopy, Dr. V Prakash about Radiation and Dr. KN Ravi about
the Moon. Delegates were happily shared their experience through the oral and poster presentations. RRCE Student participation was amazing like invocation, anchoring, hospitality to
chief guest and the activities of the conference. The aim of National Conference ETAS-17 was fully achieved by the release of CD also. Dr. Jobish Johns convener from physics department of
ETAS-17 was involved in all the activities of the National Conference. Mrs. Vindhya A and Mrs. Vaishali R Bote supported the activities of ETAS-17.
