Ph. D Viva – Voce

The Ph.D. final Viva-Voce Examination of the research scholar r. Kallur. V. Vijaya kumar bearing USN 1VA11PGN01 presently working as assistant professor in the department of Mathematics, B.M.S. Institute of technology and Management, a student of Dr. A. S. Hariprasad, Professor & Head, Department of Mathematics, Rajarajeswari College of Engineering was conducted on 17.08.2019 at 11 am at the research centre, department of mathematics, Rajarajeswari college of Engineering, Bengaluru.

The scholar presented his research work entitled “Application of Polynomial Splines and Finite Element Techniques for Numerical Integration in Two Dimensional Euclidean Space” successfully and satisfactorily through a power point presentation. The presentation covered the literature survey, problem formulation, goals & objectives, proposed work, results and inferences, validation and major conclusions and contributions of the research.

The research scholar explained the research objectives clearly highlighting the problems based on extensive literature review. The scholar has effectively elaborated the aspects of the study. He has used his potential to carry out the research successfully. The candidate answered satisfactorily all the queries raised by the examiners through a power point presentation giving clarifications. In conclusion, the thesis has made an important contribution on the Application of Polynomial Splines, Mesh Generation, and Numerical Integration over Polygonal Domains, Curved Domains in two space and over Linear Convex Polyhedron in three space. This thesis is presented very systematically. These theoretical results are very much interesting and useful to researchers in engineering and science. Most of the results are already published in reputed journals. This thesis is a significant and welcome addition to the research area and useful to scientists. On the basis of this work, the Viva-voce committee is satisfied with the performance of the candidate and recommended the thesis for the award of the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Mathematics to Mr. Kallur. V. Vijayakumar by Visversvaraya Technological University, Jnana Sangama, Belagavi – 590 018, Karnataka State, India.
